I've had dinner here many times, and can't believe I haven't left a review yet. I absolutely love river twice, and have yet to have a meal here that hasnt left me beaming and full when I walk out the door. Ingredients are all extremely fresh, and the dishes are thoughtful. The menu is updated often, I don't think we've had the same dish twice except for dessert or the bread & ricotta. Vibes are great. It's small but not claustrophobic, and high-end but not suffocating. The servers are all absolutely wonderful. Not only are they knowledgeable about River Twice, but we've had some great conversations with them about Philly dining as a whole, and have walked out with new restaurant recommendations. I think it's incredibly honorable that a restaurant is willing to promote it's competition by making recommendations. It tells me they love food, and want this city to keep being a shining example of American dining. Here's my only complaint: the available cocktail list is too small, and stays on the menu too long. If you're going to offer two maybe three cocktails, I think they need to be rotated out more often. In the grand scheme of things this is pretty small, and it's not going to discourage me from being a customer. But it's something worth considering.

Had the best time!! Sat at the bar with 2 of my friends, and we had such a blast. The tasting menu was fire, full of variety, quality and presentation. We had such incredible interactions with the staff, they really made our time all the more fun!

One of the best meals I've had to date....every item in the tasting menu was phenomenal from start to finish. Still daydreaming of the jimmy red corn grits with koji, fennel, and peekytoe crab and the hiramasa fish collar....would 100% eat every single thing on this menu again.

First time at River Twice. Met up with some favorite friends from my American Water days. Interesting approach to a menu. There was a 75 fixed tasting menu and then a set of optional extras. I went with the soft shell crab special and everyone else did the burger (since we specifically came on burger Monday). This is a cozy small restaurant in the heart of Philly. We were seated at the counter and were able to watch the food prep. Pretty cool. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding. Plenty of food to satisfy your hunger in the tasting menu alone, but I am glad we added the extras. The starter was raw Maine scallops in a creme sauce. Unbelievably good! This was followed by the NJ sushi rice with smoked steelhead. Well made, filling, and slightly unremarkable. The mackerel, steamed cabbage and sweet potato made up for it with a perfect bite of these three ingredients! My soft shell crab was very unusual, in a good way, with an interesting creamy sauce and pickled onions. The burger was outstanding!! Lots of nuanced flavors going on. Finally, the winter citrus creamsicle was fun, creative, light, and the perfect ending to a super cool dining experience. Highly recommend River Twice for the adventurous eater!

Tried it all!! Absolutely outstanding! 10/10 in all areas from vibes to people to food and drink... amazing restaurant and should be in line for Michelin status in my opinion.. (I have been to many) this would compete easily. Well done.

River Twice is always a great meal. That being said, like any other more upscale tasting menu, you need to be slightly adventurous. Expect unique ingredients and/or flavor combinations The base tasting menu is solid but if you can, definitely get at least 1 of the supplements or the drink pairing The service is consistently wonderful and the wine list is well curated Also if it's on the menu when you're there, get the Mother Rucker burger - one of the best in the city

Service was amazing, we had a perfect wine recommendation to pair with food. overall food was good. Great quality and the creativity was there; seafood were are fresh, highly recommend the oyster with trout roe. We didn’t like the first starter with raw scallops and shiso leaves,i’m not sure if it was salt, fine sand, or a piece of shell, but out of five spoonfuls, 3 had small unpleasant thing that shouldn’t have been there.

I don’t write reviews often but I needed to share how great my experience at river twice was. Upon arriving the staff was friendly and welcoming. We sat at a four top with beautiful lighting and were able to observe the chefs cooking, great music, and ambiance throughout the restaurant. I am Not exaggerating when I say that every dish we ordered came beautifully prepared and tasted delicious. Also, The caviar! The owner and chef came over to chat with us and make sure we were enjoying our food, the night was very memorable and I can’t wait to go back again.
